Did the East German state take over the hospital?

Are there any records locally or in Berlin?

Is Harry just a nickname?

Is he still alive?

Where is Harry?

Tasks:

 1) look for death notices of RAF veterans in the UK

2) try to find out which RAF regiments served in or around the area in 1945 - some of these groups hold annual "reunions" - see if you can send a copy of the photo to them to identify;

3) continue to use social media the way you are using it . . . someone is likely to see the photo . . .

4) Check UK newspapers from early 1945 (findmypast.co.uk) - sometimes there were mentions that a soldier was shot down or held as a prisoner of war

5) y-DNA Test of my father

If you know where your grandmother was living would any neighbours perhaps remember information or did she have a close friend to confide in?
